A little story:

House of Chayil was birthed this year after a series of hard times and frustrating moments. You know, like I've said before, Difficult moments in life can be Defining moments in destiny if we allow ourselves to learn from them.

Anyway, since HOC was birthed, I've had this dream of a gathering where we would be Inspired and Ignited to pursue purpose, leave fear behind and step out in faith. I had to step out in faith on this one. Didn't have the money, still don't have everything we need, didn't have the team.
But I learnt that what you need first to achieve anything is not money, you need the vision/idea, then you need your voice to share the vision. I shared the vision I had and found out there were people waiting for me to do this, who believed in me. Thanks to my wonderful team, friends, my family and my family here, at TARM and Dayspring Chapel.
More to come later...

LADIES, LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOU 10AM, NEXT SATURDAY, 29TH. THIS IS MY SPECIAL INVITATION.

It's a new week, friend. What's that idea burning inside of you? Take a step in faith, use your voice, don't wait for the money. Like my team keep telling me, it will come.

Ladies, let's get ignited.
See you there.

LADIES HANGOUT, AUGUST EDITION

Hi, friends.

Ladies hangout for August holds tomorrow, Thursday, 11-8-16 on Twitter by 6pm and on Facebook by 8pm. Details are on the image below.

Our guest is the beautiful Boluwatife Oladipupo who will be sharing with us on the theme, 'Trusting God's process'.

By process, I mean those happenings in our lives that get us prepared to fulfil our destinies. It can be those times when we feel nothing good is happening in our lives. These times may be difficult but remember that all things work together for our good.

Ruth, Mary, Esther all went through their process and chose to stay in it and not run out prematurely. This led to fulfillment of their purpose in life.

These days, we want great achievements and want them immediately. We don't want to stay in a process and we get tempted to compare ourselves with others.

This topic will help us understand that we need to trust God's process and show us what to do at such times.

Expecting you.♥♥♥

P.S
A live House of Chayil ladies Hangout in the city of Abeokuta is loading. Please indicate your interest in attending by sending your name, and phone number in a mail to houseofchayil@gmail.com

Thank you.

FINDING LOVE AGAIN

Hi, friends. Happy New Month!!! It's gonna be a great month for you.

#NewBeginnings
#ThereisaShift
#Uncommontestimonies
#Zoe

It's been a while and it's so good to be here again. I'm so glad I made it back. It's been a couple of challenging and interesting weeks. But God has been Faithful.

Well, I'm going to be sharing some things I have learnt since the last time I posted and I believe it will encourage, and bless you and I.

Today, I'm sharing a post by a beautiful lady; a lover of God. She wrote on finding love again. Recently, a dear sister shared a story of how God turned her situation around and she found love again. This made me remember the Word the Lord gave me when I had an experience of a heartbreak:

... He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises. Heb 8:6
...We are confident that you are meant for better things, things that come with salvation. Heb 6:9

This write up speaks so much to me because it reinforces God's Word to us. We are not to give up or lose hope when we go through difficult times as His children. There is hope for Better Things. The Latter shall surpass the Former. It doesn't matter what kind of loss: Career, business, relationship or financial, God is able to replenish and make Better Things abound for you. Trust Him and Obey.

It is not time to give up or lose hope. It is time to Believe and Hold on to His Word because, Faithful is He who has promised, He will do it.

Please leave your comments, contributions or questions. Would really love to hear from you after this long while. Lol

 FINDING LOVE AGAIN By OJONE

..........And just when you thought it could never happen for you again..
That no one could ever make you feel this good and green again, that you could never be absent minded at work or in class cos you're thinking about them, that you could never sit alone and smile sheepishly  and grin shyly to yourself, that you could never find a love so sweet ever again, that your heart could never beat so rapidly just at the mere sound of a voice again.

And every now and then when those memories flood through your mind, you quickly wipe the tears away, tears that only you know about. Tears for all the sweet plans you've made together that have now become impossible. .........And then it happened.

Oh yes indeed it happened!!
You can't explain It.
But somehow it did.
Just when you thought you were all alone with your broken heart and dreams
And then from the corner of your eyes
You notice someone gazing in your direction
And when you turned to look at them
You noticed that they were smiling at you
With the most gorgeous smile you've ever seen
And your heart immediately skips a beat, on its own accord.
For no one had ever smiled at you that way before,
With so much love shinning brightly out of eyes that looked so gorgeous,
And you find yourself returning the  smile
Who knew you had such a beautiful smile?
And right there and then,it all began again.......
In the twinkle of an eye,
Everything  became possible again.
For suddenly, together you both are a formidable force.
For the sky looks so blue again

This is for all my broken hearted peeps in the house.....
It's gonna happen for you again
Something even better than what you've had before
Jesus cares
He heals the broken hearted
And He renews your youth like the eagle's.
For behold a tree that has been cut down.
At the sprout of water ,it shall yet rise again.
He will restore the years that they took from you

it's gonna happen again #

HOPE

It has become quite easy to give in to weariness and despair in these days we are in. Several happenings around causing great discouragement.
But I choose to believe and not give up, keep moving and working towards my dreams and the purpose placed in me.
Here's a poem that gives me so much hope.

HOPE by Abioye Bukola

Seconds have turned to minutes
Minutes to hours
Hours to days
Days to weeks
Weeks to months
Months to years

But here I stand
Waiting, wishing,hoping
That it will all come true
My dreams and aspirations

But quietly, hope is leaving
Wish is fading and I can't stand anymore
The future is so bleak
The dreams have faded
What else can I do?
Who can help?

Then I heard a voice say- WAIT!
Not anymore! I can't
My legs are weak
My mind can't imagine
My eyes can't see
Even if it comes, where's the strength to grasp
It will be too late-I replied

But He said to me again- WAIT!
As I lifted my eyes
I saw a light from a distance
Shinning so bright

Then, I realized I could see
My mind is open again
My legs have received strength
I ran very fast to see what it was about
I can't believe my eyes!
Its my dreams and aspirations
They are now more real than I ever imagined
Oh! At last! Oh! What a great joy!

So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. 2nd Corinthians 4:16,17

Let's talk
  • Can you share your moments of despair and how hope was restored to you.

STEP OUT OF THE SHADOWS

Every woman has the potential to move beyond the scars, pains, and tears, walk to the centre stage and fulfil her role. I believe it's time to step out of the shadows and shine as we were created to.

Esther was a woman God brought out of the shadows. She allowed herself to be taught and had the courage to step out. By this, she saved her people. It's time for you, child of God to step out.

Join us this Friday, 1st of April by 6pm on Twitter as we inspire one another.

BIBLE VERSES ON STRENGTH

Psalm 71:16 I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only.

Job 12:13 With him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding.

2Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Habbakuk 3:19 The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places.

Psalm 18:2  The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Psalm 18:32  It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.

Psalm 28:7  The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.

Psalm 28:8  The LORD is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed.

Psalm 37:39  But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble.

Isaiah 40:29  He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

Isaiah 40:31  But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

THE STRENGTH OF MY LIFE

2Samuel 22:33 God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.

Proverbs 24:10 If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.

It’s been a couple of challenging and celebration filled weeks, all at the same time.
It made me remember that some years ago, a mentor of mine asked me to fast and pray, for days, on one point: Strength. I was wondering why I had to do that. However, I did it and I discovered that I was praying for strength in different areas of my life: physically, financially, spiritually….

Some years down the line, I understand better. I understood what the Bible meant when it says that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill… (Ecc 9:11). A man of God once said that the battle is not to the strong but to the strengthened. Who is the strong? It’s one who has the ability to produce and withstand great forces. Such persons do not necessarily win the battle. The strengthened is one who is equipped with the right tools for the battle by someone who knows what is really needed to win that particular battle. The strengthened is fortified and reinforced for the particular situation.

I liken this to David and Goliath. Goliath had the tools to fight; the helmet, spear, coat of mail; he was strong. But David was strengthened by the Lord of Hosts. God knew what David needed to win and it wasn’t as heavy, burdensome as what King Saul had given him earlier. He had the right tools to win that battle even though it looked so insignificant. In the end, however, he came out victorious.

You may ask, what exactly are you saying? I’m saying that God is the strength of our lives. When we leave Him out of the picture and try to run things the way we want, I’m sure we know the outcome. I’m saying that years down the line, after I prayed that prayer for strength, I experienced the answer. I entered a season of strong waves. I got to the lowest lows; points when I knew without the strength of God, I would never have survived.

God strengthened me in my Spirit and also emotionally at a time when I would have crashed. Emotionally, I was nursing a lot of heartache. The inner strength helped grow a physical strength to support me so I could move on. I don’t think anyone is wholly capable to strengthen your spirit, soul, and mind as God does.

And I’m also saying that No matter the circumstance of your life, ask for the strength of the Lord. God can make us and give us all we need in every situation. I’m here because of His strength. The Lord is the strength of my life.

With you, I find my Strength
With you, I can hold on
With you, I know I’m covered
No greater power than you
No God is greater than you.
(With You by James Fortune and Fiya)

Today, I can say, Thank you, Lord, my Strength.

The word, Chayil, has one of its meanings to be Strength (I will soon start a series on Chayil).
*** There’s a follow up post on Bible verses on strength. I pray you will be strengthened by God and come out of every situation the better for it.

HELP A CHILD.... #COMPASSION

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me ...”
MATTHEW 25:35-36 (NIV)
“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.”
PROVERBS 31:8 (NIV)

Today, I’m blogging for Compassion. The Compassion Bloggers Network comprises of a group of men and women who dedicate their time and talents to share the needs of the world's poorest children. We are a community of voices for vulnerable children living in poverty. A community that loves Jesus, encourages others and has a great sense of humor.
As a ministry, Compassion offers many opportunities to keep rallying as a community and help more children find sponsors, or help raise funds for things like safe water and malaria nets. I am honored to be a part of a community that works at helping lives and giving meaning to the most vulnerable ones amidst humans; children.

Here are some facts:
  • ·        1 billion of 2.2 billion children worldwide are living in poverty, that is, nearly half  of the world’s children live in poverty.
  • ·        19,000 children die each day due to poverty.
  • ·   In 2013, 161 million children under the age 5 were stunted due to chronic  malnutrition.
  • ·       There are 1.1 billion people in developing countries without access to clean water.

           (UNICEF and The World Bank)

We can do something about this, one kid at a time. One of the ways to help a child is by participating in the Compassion Water of Life. This is a safe water system that addresses one of the greatest and most urgent needs in developing countries today - providing safe drinking water to children and their families. Donations can be made on compassion.com.

Let’s partner with Compassion for the month of February to help provide safe drinking water for children in poverty. It’s a worthy cause.

10 BIBLE VERSES ON SHOWING LOVE TO OTHERS

It’s the season of love around the world. There are ads all around proposing one way or the other to show love to someone or be with someone you love. Not altogether bad; I’m also thinking on ways to show love to my family, friends, readers, and most of all, God.  Personally, I think every day is a day to show love. The Bible talks a lot about love and Jesus says that the second greatest commandment is to love your neighbor as yourself. If everyone is courteous, compassionate and works hard to live at peace with his fellow man, the world will definitely be better. I have a part to play, so do you. Here are some bible verses that encourage us to live in love. So, don’t limit an act of love or care to the 14th of February, live in love all year round. Have a lovely day…..

  • ·        John 15:17    These things I command you, that ye love one another.

·        Romans 12:10  Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

·        Ephesians 5:2  And walk in love as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

·        Ephesians 5:25  Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it.

·        Eph 5:28  So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

·        1John 4:8   He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

·        1John 3:18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

·        1Peter 3:8 Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous.

·        Titus 2:4  That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children.

·        Matthew 22:39  And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

WHO CARES?

The poem below expresses the heart of a lot of people in our world today. Each one of us seems so busy that we rarely look around to help someone. So many ask the question, ‘Who cares about me?’ Others may remember us once in a while but God never forgets us, and He will make things work out for our good. HE CARES!

“Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him. For He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.” 1st Peter 5:7 AMP

WHO CARES? By IFEDAYO
Who cares about my tears
Who cares about my fears
My trouble-filled affairs
And the jeers I do hear

Who cares when the news
That locates my ears
Is never a clown
That would erase my frown

Who cares when I get a sack
And I weep in the dark
Because my kids always yawn
Wishing they weren’t born

Who cares when I am pale
Because I tried and failed
Though so hard I sail
I never do excel

Who cares when my peers
Make fun of my life
And their ridiculous jabs
Hurts like a knife’s stab

Who cares about my grief
Which has never been brief
And the frustration it gives
Increases as I live

Who cares, who cares, who cares
Who cares about my cares
Then I heard a voice that said
“Relax, because God cares.”

2016… GOING FORWARD

Welcome to the House of Chayil, a place of hope, strength for a better and fulfilled you. Welcome to a new year. This is my first post on this blog and it is a reflection on a challenging and defining 2015. Looking back, I’m grateful to God for the process and the strength He gave me. I pray that 2016 will be a great and fulfilling year for us all. HAPPY NEW YEAR, HAPPY NEW YOU. J

2015 was a challenging year for me. January 2015 started on a low note because there were things I expected in my life the previous year and had not seen. So, in the beginning of 2015, I started making plans and working on my goals. In the first quarter of the year, however, it seemed like everything in my life was falling apart; I had relationship issues, I was heartbroken and felt betrayed. I had career issues, I was down, and I almost lost sight of who I was.

But now, I look back and I’m thankful. I discovered that difficult moments can also be defining moments. Someone said, “The best love songs are not written by people in love”. I think that we, as humans, discover our strengths and purpose in unpalatable situations.  Our vision is sharpened if we take out the time to check through those situations. We learn more about ourselves. The challenging time I had in 2015 led to a discovery of who I was created to be.

A favourite bible verse of mine says, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love G0d and are called according to His purpose.” 2015 was a difficult time in my life but it worked out for my good. God worked it out for my good. According to the lyrics of a song I love,
You are the first, the last, beginning and the end
In You I live and move and have my being
You hold my life, my world, my future all in Your hands
And you knew my name before time began…..

I knew God held my life in 2015; God was real to me. Through the difficulties, the times I cried my heart out, the times I couldn’t say a word, I knew God more. There was a lot I didn’t know until then but my heavenly Father knew it all and was there for me.

I can say now that 2015 was a GREAT year for me because the year made me think of what I really wanted to live for and my purpose was birthed. I discovered who God created me to be and I’m ready to live my God-given dreams. I’m better, wiser and stronger. 2015 was amazing, 2016 will be so much better.

I hope that you will locate the good out of the difficult moments in your life and channel it for a good cause this year. This is the year to believe in God, believe in your dreams and work towards fulfilling them. This is the year to GO FORWARD. God said to Moses at the Red sea, “Tell the children of Israel to go forward.” They did and there was great deliverance and joy as opposed to the tragedy the children of Israel had expected.

So, GO FORWARD this year, LEARN from 2015 and MOVE ON. BELIEVE in every promise God has made regarding you, it will come to pass. Dare to trust God to do what only He can do, with a word He will make something great out of nothing (or even the worst situation you’ve ever experienced). Even when it looks otherwise, remember, “All things work together for GOOD…”

HAPPY NEW YEAR, HAPPY NEW YOU!!!
